    • A MKVII GTI on the stock 2.0 turbo takes a 475 whp N54 on the highway

This is an interesting video as the result is not what you would expect. A DSG (dual clutch) GTI can certainly be pretty potent but usually you will see a turbo upgrade involved. This MKVII Volkswagen GTI is said to be on the factory turbo.

However, it is also stripped out considerably. How much weight was dropped? Who knows.

The 335i is said to make 475 whp and it has a passenger. The 335i is already heavier to begin with so the passenger definitely hurts but the bimmer would have more than it could handle regardless it looks like.

      Certainly an impressive GTI.

Looks like the exhaust is coming straight out the hood area on that vw, doubt its stock turbo.. unless the Bmw is running like a POS. LOL

Ok after checking out his page it looks like it is a stock turbo car. Weighs between 2300-2700 lbs (he mentions 2300 in his more recent videos) and running 100% WGDC (35psi) 450ft lbs at the wheels. He has another video posted on his page yanking a GTR. Also absolutely spanking a fbo golf R, impressive setup for sure

I was filling up at the gas station and trying out an octane booster when I had a gti owner ask if I wanted to run. The car was a 2017 FBO with stock turbo, and he tunes local gti's and speed3's. I was curious to see if the octane booster worked so we had at it. First run from a 60 roll I brake boosted and crushed him quickly, second run the car must have adjusted timing because I spun pretty badly from about 70-80 and he was right there with me. Had I been on I been on low boost he probably would have given me some problems.

Our Stage 2 FWD MK7 GTI is quicker than 95% of the N54's on the road, with about $5K in parts on it. It runs consistent bottom 11, high 10 second passes. It ran 7.88 60-130 full interior first try. This IS the defacto best bang for your buck platform on the market, no exceptions. Our upcoming Stage 2 turbo for the platform is outperforming kits which are much more expensive. The only other stock motor GTI in the 10's is an APR Stage 3+ car running an EFR 7163 kit. It ran 10.89 at 127. We ran a 10.98 at 127 with very poor track prep. We will have this record next time to the track. The GTI currently serves as my DD, and I love the car so much I sold our Shop Focus RS to drive the GTI.

Joe, it won't let me post any of the slips or the 60-130 video if you are interested in posting them let me know. Our GTI is currently the quickest/fastest stock motor FWD MK7 in the world as the APR car which set that record has since been turned into a race car.

Friends i have in the mk7 scene tell me there was/is alot of controversy about his videos. his named is "Wolf" on the mk7 forums and evidently he is using nitrous and possibly modified his stock is20 turbo as well. No doubt the car moves but using nitrous and possibly a modified stock turbo put things into better perspective.

i got beat by a gutted mk7. i can try to find the video to show a comparison.

Mk7 had: fully gutted but kept hood and bumpers. FBO + IS38 turbo + Meth + 1/4 tank on RPF1's

my 335i: Full weight, Full tank, 25lb~ wheels, two passengers, full trunk with luggage & 10 gallons of E85 in it. Map 7 Jb4 on very tired turbos E30 + Meth dp's, intakes, no FMIC or Inlets

I hate when people don't disclose their mods.

If it's on nitrous that changes everything.

Found the video, he wasn't running rpf1's but a vmr wheel which i believe is still pretty light. I let off when he got about 2 cars ahead of me.

EDIT: he was also dsg and i'm rwd 6mt on stock clutch

To put things into perspective the car was running decent but not ideal. rattle fix on old turbos with old plugs coils etc. Was still able to beat a bolt on 5.0 Coyote, bolt on 370z and a evo x mr with a stock frame turbo upgrade in the same weekend.

I've since got new turbos, injectors courtesy of bmw and done maintenance like carbon clean etc. and the car feels much more potent than it did when this video was taken.

Damn he ran away quick. The GTI I raced made 340 whp and wasn't gutted. I later made 540 whp on 93 and a can of octane booster @ 13 psi on the same dyno he ran on. They are pretty damn fast for what they are.
