Volkswagen finally decided to do their official online reveal of the eighth generation Volkswagen Golf. Obviously a big deal for Volkswagen as this model is iconic for the brand. What you see seems to be a base Golf.


US enthusiasts can expect the MKVIII GTI and Golf R to be revealed at a later date but at least you get to see the design and what Volkswagen is working with.

The interior is a step up but that DCT or automatic gear level sure looks like it came from Porsche. There is also thankfully a manual transmission option.

The design is elegant and a nice evolution. Now let's see the fun variants...
