    • Iroz Motorsport and Custom Code falling out? Eurocharged Canada partners with Custom Code to create ECC

Interesting tuner developments here for North American Audi and VW enthusiasts in particular. You may recall that Iroz Motorsport worked with Custom Code in the UK early on for software tuning solutions for Volkswagen and Audi models.

Well, there seems to be some sort of falling out that took place. Eurocharged Canada is now partnering with Custom Code to create ECC:

@HankIroz essentially referred to those behind Custom Code as scammers:

I am just sad a deal had to be made with the devil, a guy that sells a reality that just isnít true, lies repeatedly, and ultimately tries to tear down my good name and character in order to perpetuate the life and lie he has setup. Shame on all the companies and individuals that know what he is doing and keep allowing him to over promise and under deliver at the expense of hundreds of thousands of dollars and peopleís livelihood. I let a lot of people down trusting this individual, and it weighs heavily on me.

Iím sure this gets back to to you Keith/Vince/CC/ADT (same person). Send me my final fucking invoice Iíve asked you and your attorney for so I can rid myself of the plague that has infested my business for the last 24 months. Be a man and own up to what you promised.
Hank Iroz clearly is not a happy camper regarding his Custom Code experience. To be fair, there are some complaints about Iroz Motorsport online as well and Hank Iroz did not respond to BoostAddict for comment.

BoostAddict did confirm Eurocharged Canada remains a Eurocharged franchise but it seems they are doing some sort of deal with Custom Code on the side regarding how they will deliver software to VW/Audi customers. How this will go and what ECC will entail exactly remains a large question.

Hank Iroz believes this is about eating his market share so essentially Eurocharged Canada and Custom Code working against him:

you do not know enough about the internals of ADT to understand. Itís okay, I once went head first into proposed business model with ďcalibrators on almost every continent, 24 hour support, etcĒ. I too told the people that warned me to stay away that it was a clean deal. I get it.
Who is in the right here? What will happen? BoostAddict and AudiBoost/VWboost will of course keep you updated. We are open to comment from Eurocharged Canada or Custom Code.

seems like a huge mess. Iroz pushed CC on lots of folks. I noticed syvecs being more and more what they pushed for big turbos and hybrids, probably to remove the CC aspect. Then saw vancityaudi go from CC to unitronic. Maybe he was clued in or just got tired of CC too.

Eurocharged makes some good products and seems to offer a great tune. If they can get to a home flashing solution they will be a big player. Maybe they just use CC for that and not the tuning. Who knows.

What I do know is, being in Arizona I want an E50 tune(99% of pump ethanol is e50 here) and nobody so far offers that, except I have seen a dyno on E50 shown by eurocharged.

        They sure did.

I don't think it is just that. Once you get to these higher levels you need the control Syvecs offers. It's no coincidence the highest HP builds on whatever platform tend to go to standalones.

Iroz is the alpha and Omega in the Audi/VW 5cyl world and that reputation has been earned through results, not hype. I've heard and experienced Iroz being a little slow to respond to emails before, but that is because they are making parts and building race cars, not managing social media accounts and marketing platforms.

The customers will follow Hank's hardware, not the software. I don't care to read through the backstory at the moment, but I'm fairly certain the results will continue to speak for themselves.

Are they? Sure, his shop cars are impressive but Iroz is at nowhere near the scale or professionalism of someone like APR.

Dude has plenty of time to post on Facebook...

The performance results are the best. That is true. The customer service could use some work.

I care about results more than professionalism. Hop on the TT/RS3 forums and ask how many people lost their motors on APR's (no longer sold) 8j stage 3 kit... or the base tune for that matter.

I'm not ECC but I've been privy to details on the matter, I'm also the one Hank was replying to in that thread - I don't know all the intricacies of Iroz falling out with CC/ADT, I do know both sides feel they're owed something they were promised but never received. As for ECC's relationship, they will not be taking CC's operations over, this is being done only to improved ECC's distribution via server and at home flashing - this will only be involving Slav's EC Canada's calibrations.

No tuner in existence hasn't lost a motor and it's fine that you care more about results from a shop car than professionalism but there are those who aren't trying to go for the ragged edge.

Being able to offer a warranty, dealer relationships, and having a far larger operation count too.

I think we are comparing apples and oranges.

That's what I'm saying. It wasn't one or two. That will happen. Everyone that ran APR's stage 3 kit had to dump the tune for UM because it was routinely grenading motors. There is a reason it was pulled from their catalog.

Right but how APR handled it and having the resources to handle issues/warranty claims is a big deal.

There have been many issues posted about Iroz not responding to problems and it took publicly calling them out to get Hank to respond:

PSA* Following that airing of grievances post last night regarding Iroz and order fulfillment.

Hank Iroz called me personally at 9pm last night (way out of business hours) to apologize for the breakdown in communication. He fully admitted there have been ongoing issues with communication, it’s unacceptable, and he is committed to changing elements of customer service and the order process to provide a better experience.

Hank is a stand up guy. The fact he owns his mistakes and is working on being better reassured me of my decision.

Just wanted to post this to clear my own issue up. While it’s evidently not isolated - I don’t want anyone else thinking negatively about this company. They have had issues with communication to customers. But I sincerely believe they are committed to being better, and will be.

Back to the subject at hand, Hank is a hardware guy and his hardware is the best in the business. Ive bought one product from him, a clutch, and customer service was good enough to buy some car parts from. If I want to be pampered I'll go stay at a nice hotel.

I don't disagree. Just wanted to point out the flip side of the coin.

Custom Code contacted me and let me know some of their side. I'm not going to post it all as they asked me to keep it off the record but this snippet sheds some light.

People behind the scenes mentioned some financial issues at Iroz. Whether this is true or not I leave up to you:

Click here to enlarge Originally Posted by ADT Click here to enlarge

Unfortunately, over the course of nearly 2 years, Iroz was never able to fully satisfy either of those requirements and despite repeated efforts by Custom Code and ADT to provide what Iroz relayed was required for their success, ADT was left with no choice but to cease support.

ADT recognized that by doing so existing Iroz/Custom Code clients would be further dissatisfied and therefore ADT entered into an arrangement with Eurocharged that solves the customer support issue for the existing clientele.

Apparently part of this shift as well is that Iroz has outstanding debt with Custom Code.

Wonder why Hank bad mouths them now after using them for so long?

I think if he keeps it up and blames their coding for engine damage that he can't substantiate he might be looking at a law suit for libel and defamation - he better be careful.

It is interesting to note plenty of people say ADT has issues as well.

Seems there are issues on both sides.
