  • 2.5 TFSI swapped Volkswagen MK7 Golf R breaks into the 8's - 8.94@159.62

How is this for an argument for Volkswagen to give the Golf R the 2.5 TFSI inline-5 motor? It is a shame it does not come this way from the factory but this 2.5 TFSI EA8555 EVO swapped Volkswagen Golf R managed to break into the 8-second second range in the 1/4 mile.

Yes, absolutely incredible and quite efficient performance:

What kind of power did it take to pull that off? 912 horses at the crank as measured by a Dynojet with correction factor:

Race Developments in the Uk known for their 2.5 TFSI heads did the engine build. MRC Tuning is responsible for the software work.

Other details such as the clutches and Xona turbo model are not specified but this is the quickest MKVII Golf R in the world and the only 8-second example to this point.

Pretty damn amazing. I wonder the cost of a swap like this....anyone have an idea?

I assume they also swapped in the DQ500....or was it using the DSG offered in the Golf R?
