  • MKVI VW Golf R with Audi 2.5 TFSI engine swap and TTE500 turbocharger runs 10.9@123.92

You are going to see more and more 2.5 TFSI swaps into MKVI and MKVII Volkswagen Golf models. It is too bad Volkswagen does not do it themselves from the factory but then the Golf R would run all over everything short of an R8 V10.

This MKVI Golf R has a fairly mild TTE500 hybrid turbo on it which is good enough to get the Golf into the 10's in the 1/4 mile at 123.92 miles per hour:

The standing kilometer number isn't too shabby either a 17.5 second elapsed time and a 147.84 mile per hour trap speed.

Maybe some tuner will come out with a swap kit including the 2.5 TFSI motor and software necessary?

As much fun as my manual is I do get ET envy from DSG's from time to time...

I don't think I would go from PDK to manual or DCT to manual.

There is more than enough fun factor with the performance bonus for me.

To teach their own of course.

Nobody seems to have laid out the entire cost but several tuners have done it.
