  • VTT (Vargas Turbo) launches EA888 2.0 MQB GC 71mm turbo upgrade - MKVII GTI/Golf R, 8V Audi A3/S3, B9 A4 2.0/A5 2.0, MKIII TT/TT-S

This turbo upgrade was in the works for a while but VTT (Vargas Turbocharger Technologies) finally has what they are referring to as their MQB 'GC' turbocharger. This is not an IS38 hybrid but their own casting although it applies to the same models.

That means EA888 2.0 motors in the following models:

    MKVII GTI
    MKVII Golf R
    8V A3
    8V S3
    B9 A4
    B9 A5

The current intro price is $1799 and let's take a look at what it can do.

    First, dynos:

Over 500 whp is great power.

It results in 10-second performance on the strip and trap speeds of ~126 depending on conditions and supporting mods:

And what about the 1/2 mile? 156.7 mph:

Certainly great performance out of the 2.0 liter motor.

Hell that's amazing power. What actual car/model put down these runs? Also, fuel/supporting mod details?

Was this run on E85 then? Any 93 octane numbers? The results are so damn impressive.

Yes, definitely was run on ethanol. We did 93 a long time ago -shoot Tony an email tony@vargasturbo.com and he'll tell you all about it. Tell him Ramone sent you (makes him be extra detailed).
