Tesla Model S versus Dodge Viper SRT10 on the strip

They could not have possibly babied this Viper out of the hole any more than they did considering the Tesla wins with a 12.7@110:

I think this car is very overrated. I appreciate the effort and the engineering put in this car. Great look, great (for now) powertrain etc... Overall a good package. But i haven't seen a single decent review of this car to make the final call. The reviews all have some kind of BS here and there.

And i guess EV's have no place in future. They are more like temporary solutions, like the post WWII coal burning cars.

It's not overrated and there have been review so not sure what you mean.

Temporary solution doesn't even make sense.

It is. Very overrated. A family member owns one and all i hear is complaining.

How temporary solution doesn't make sense? What makes you think in some years you'll be driving a electric car?

A family member owns one? As in someone in Iran has a Tesla?

The Tesla Model S won MotorTrend's car of the year I believe. It's getting tons of praise.

The fact that everything is moving toward that and it offers less emissions? The only thing holding it back is battery technology.

My neighbor just got one, he loves it. I think it's a very commendable achievement in engineering.

Wow.. Had I not seen Viper's nose dip I would have joked that it must have started in 2nd or 3rd gear. Lol

I've seen a few Tesla S's around these past couple weeks. Quite an attractive car in person.

When I first rolled up on it from behind at a light my mind ran through a few quick thoughts.. Aston Rapide.. No.. Panamera.. No.. Tesla! Damn that looks pretty good! The dude caught me staring and gave me the thumbs up. I gave him a complimentary straight piped S85 symphony under the overpass bridge we turned under lol..

    I saw a video of a Tesla S today against a E63AMG...

    Depressing.
Comforting to know Tesla will not last 30 miles driving like that, before the battery's are dead...

Hahaha that's awesome... Test drove one of these last month cool ride. But wasn't put other well, granted they stated it was for demo purposes only. Either way the Viper soft launched and the MB did as well. It's all in good fun

If it was priced at/around the same as the prius I could see it. Until then, Murica lol

That's the problem with most electric cars. They are so expensive(either due to engineering/development cost or they want to cater only to the rich) that they are never going to make a serious impact. The rate at which other technologies are developing means that EVs are just going to be a brief blip on the automotive radar. Just my opinion.

It is the electronically controlled TC on all 4 wheels combined with EP torque that makes it win these contests.
Put it against an equally controlled car, say a GT-R and it's gonna lose

I don't know if its possible to launch it weaker. And an 8.3 liter V10 isn't hurting for torque.

Well that's wat Farah had said. Between all the ones in NJ that got ruined from Sandy & once Fisker goes out of business / loses govt. subsidies, I'd be really cool to see the Karma become the modern "hot rod" car.
