    • 'Merica - 616 rwhp C6 Z06 with heads/cam on E85 vs. GT350, S2000, 335i, ST N54, CTS-V, etc.

This C6 Z06 belongs to BoostAddict Automotive Performance Network member @The Ghost. It seems a few guys that used to be on the BimmerBoost side are moving to C6 Z06's as of late. It is hard to argue with them as look at these results.

The car has an aftermarket cam, heads, and an E85 tune. It certainly makes good power at 616 to the tires in naturally aspirated form. Previously, we saw this car take on some of the cars you see in this video but there are a few more runs compiled here plus we get the dyno graph.

Not to mention, it's just a good video that is short, sweet, and to the point. Enjoy.

Cool, thanks for the write-up! (who cares about Chevy's anyway?)

Mod list is long, but here are the items that matter:
        • Upgraded and CNC ported factory heads (valves, guides, springs, retainers, trunions)
        • Healthy cam
        • Long tube headers
        • Intake
        • Ported MSD intake manifold
        • 102mm throttle body
        • X pipe with cats
        • e85/flex-fuel/injectors
        • Triple disc clutch

I upgraded the cam since the dyno above. Click here to enlarge

Fun car, for what it is. Different kind of beast.

Love it. There isn't much that a properly built CZ6 HCI can't keep up with.

May I ask, why the E85 on an NA engine?

It's honestly kind of a shame E85 is dismissed for NA applications based on turbo direct injection ideals.

But why is that? I'm not trying to be ignorant, I just don't understand.

Doesn't get the same vibe. High compression and high revs love high octane.

I had to upgrade my stock injectors past 600whp anyway, so I went flex fuel. My heads are so efficient, that e85 only added 9whp. A less efficient setup would make less on pump gas and have a bigger jump on e85, due to timing. I'm so far from the det threshold, it's awesome.

Here is a clip from this weekend, testing an external mic.

What is the external mic setup?

That Procharged Z06 must be wondering how he is struggling against NA cars.

The odd thing is, NA cars are generally faster than FI cars at the same power level. Perhaps it has to do with responsiveness and powerband. For Corvettes, you need roughly 80-100 more whp FI to beat an NA Z06.

This is the mic I bought. https://www.amazon.com/Olympus-14503.../dp/B000BTAH62

I have it with wind wind muffs installed and at the entrance of the muffler (not exit) under the car. I could move it further rearward for even clearer/louder sound, but I thought this was a good compromise. It sounds way better this way than the Polyphonic Digital GT 5 sound if you use GoPro only mounted on the front of the car.

It really depends on the type of forced induction.

As a general rule, it holds true. Same is true with Honda's. The NA cars take less power to run the same times (trap is different of course). *Shrug*
