  • APR and HS Tuning push a Stage III+ MKVII GTI to 474 whp on pump gas

If you thought the 454 wheel horsepower pull for an APR Stage III+ Volkswagen MKVII Golf GTI on 93 octane pump gas was incredible prepare to be impressed further. HS Tuning was able to coax 474 wheel horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque at the wheels out of a similar setup on another GTI.

This is quite close to 500 at the wheels on pump gas. I mean, what do you even say? It's incredible.

    Here are the mods:

The fueling upgrade obviously helps tremendously. The Stage III+ is just a very solid setup for the MKVII and is showing great numbers.

great power and torque curve too! Lots of area under the curve and while it does level out between 6-7K rpm, more importantly its not dropping/dipping. That should eliminate the advantage and complication of shifting earlier in the power band, just run it out to max!

I know i'm not alone in saying I would love to see some race gas runs as well....what do people think 20whp more? Solid 500whp with racegas?

It certainly looks like 500 whp with race gas is within reason.
