    • BMW F33 4-Series convertible specifications, heavy? 428i and 435i cabriolet curb weight

BMW released the official specifications for the F33 4-Series convertible models today. The BMW F32 435i coupe is stated to weigh 3580 pounds with a manual transmission by BMW. What is the penalty for the folding hardtop? Roughly 300 pounds depending on the manual or automatic transmission choice and options. The 428i convertible undercuts the 435i convertible by 110 pounds which shows the difference between the N20 four-cylinder and N55 six-cylinder in weight.

The convenience of a folding hardtop comes with a price. What these specifications tell us is that the upcoming F83 M4 convertible will also suffer a significant weight gain pushing the car to the 3700+ pound range. Considering the previous generation E93 M3 convertible with its folding hardtop weighed in at roughly 4100 pounds and the hardtop with its motors added roughly 450 pounds that is a significant improvement for the drop top.

      Full specifications below.

You're right but this is a hard top whereas yours a soft top.

Holy hell...E93 M3 vert was 4100 pounds? That's more than an E60 M5 by a not inconsiderable amount. What a fat pig.

It's a convertible hard top, what do you want exactly?

Well, I'm not really that shocked. But I'm glad the M4 will be quite a bit lighter. Things were getting out of control.

I'm refusing to buy into the F series models. The only thing I want so far is the stop and go active cruise. This is excluding the new M as I don't know enough about it.

Agreed...the problem is that it's not there bc the fender is wider, or it needs to be there, it's just there. It reminds me of a civic with a fake e46 m3 vent glued on the side.
