Talk about lag. It seems like it took forever for that E30 to catch up.

I don't think the car is really that laggy at all for the power it's making. Watch the in car...

Blows tires off, shifts, spins then top of 3rd gains reasonable traction. Manages to pass a car that traps 132mph as it goes into 6th 142-144MPH then proceed to put 10+ car lengths on it by 175mph. Also this E30 has a 2.8 liter.

The 458 is light, fast, and has a dual clutch transmission. Not an easy car to beat and owners of the car probably never think they will lose to a BMW designed in the 80's. Well, this turbo E30 with a 2.8 liter running E85 quite simply pulls away from the Italia like its standing still. In the race the Italia gets quite a nice lead by virtue of having no lag and its dual clutch transmission quickly completing the shifts in low gears.

Once the E30 turbo spools though and the car gets traction it quickly makes up the distance and runs away from the Italia. Always fun to see a brand new Ferrari get spanked but this E30 is clearly a highway car and also clearly missing the curbside appeal. Still very cool and definitely respectable performance from it.

Well looks like the car has no interior at all, that fat bastard, should do the weight reduction to himself now. He still has the smug grin like all us BMW owners do.

Could probably actually use some weight...at least corner balance it. Might help...probably not.

not a big surprise really. my guess is it has a turbo m52 with a gt4094 and 600whp and 540wtq. pretty common and proven formula.

The driver needs to move the steering wheel to the trunk, in order to get some traction on to the rear wheels.

This is a rolling 50km (30mph) start and the E30 has no traction, it's a typicall build , one I don't really unerstand. Why not focus more on being able to deliver the power to the ground rather than this sillyness. Imagine of much faster that BMW would be better traction

This E30 seems to be useless in case the straight is less than half a mile. In 99.999% of the cases the straight is less than half a mile. It needs a lot more rubber and weight in the back axle for being able to compete in the real world.
